What’s in your final backpack?

Have you ever stopped to think, I mean really think about what you’ll be able to take with you when you leave this place? If you make this question a habit in life you’ll soon realize it is completely related to the moments you experience. This video is about reconnecting with that part of you that is real and everlasting. What do you plan on taking with you?

How much of what you spend your life currency in day to day is transcendental? When your final breath leaves your body, will you be satisfied at the contents of own backpack? What can you do immediately to massively enhance the quality of the “items” on that backpack?

Bernardo!! KRIS

I will take your dare Bernardo! Today I needed some inspiration, and I knew I would find it here. You are doing such a great job with these videos. I love how you challenge me to look at things in my life differently. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in trying to make time to fill my "final backpack," that I never actually fill it with anything worthwhile! Thanks for reminding me to step back and see the moments that I'm taking with me with more scrutiny.

You "light up my day" Bernardo!! This is a fabulous post to start off an awesome week to ... whoo hoo!! I'm ready! There's something to really be said about the stuff we carry (our backpacks) and just like the opening of your faboo videos, will it be bright sunshine pouring out or damp, musty darkness -we make the choice. It's interesting how many stories you can find on how just the right word, the right gesture, that big beautiful and sincere smile have literally changed a day or even a life! These moments stain our hearts, these moments will be remembered. I cannot express how many times I look back and feel like a certain person was just brought to me at the exact moment I needed them and it made ALL the difference. This weekend I took my child to an Easter egg hunt at a nearby farm. We arrived just as it started and by the time we got to the field the eggs were gone. My sweet Eve's eyes welled up and I said kept telling her that it would be okay and I was sorry for not getting there sooner. She just looked so sad ... a moment later, a beautiful little boy came up with two eggs in his hand wide open giving them to her. His angelic mother was off in the distance. Both of the children's eyes lit up and my heart melted. THIS is how we should raise our children because actions like this will spill over into their adult lives and the circle will keep on going. All our backpacks can be filled with goodness and selflessness! Thank for you for this beautiful reminder and delivering it in your engaging and passionate way! Yep, it's going to be a great week making a difference in another's life! ;) All things good, Elena

Hi Jenny! I am glad you liked the video and thank you for your generous words. I understand your feeling of moving too quickly and failing to see what is most important sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I do the same at times but I am working at living more of those key moments that will make up of my parting backpack. Thanks for your continuous support and enthusiasm. I hope you are having an outstanding evening my dear friend. Un Abrazo -Bernardo

Elena, Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and for sharing the story of your little one this weekend. How cool that a young child was able to, through his sharing kindness, change your child's entire day and consequently yours as well! I am sure he was just doing what was in his little heart but through that selfless innocence perhaps impacted your child's ability to share more in the future too. What I really love about creating moments for others is that it is highly infectious and awakens others to do the same :) As always Elena, thank you so much for your beautiful words and purposeful comments. BIG HUG -Bernardo

Derek, Glad to have you on board my friend and I appreciate your kind words. It's true isn't it, I have had entire days go by so much better as a result of a purposeful tweet. The key, I think is to do this consciously and develop a habit of creating moments so that your life is engulfed by fulfillment. I think it is impossible to give something without experiencing it too and that is why my focus today is on giving. Look forward to sharing more of your posts and seeing where your blog goes in the next few months Derek. Un abrazo, -Bernardo

  1. […] When I sat down to write tonight I didn’t have a clue what to say. My writing routine was disrupted when I had to work very late last night for my *real* job, and tonight I was feeling tired and uninspired. As luck would have it, my Twitter stream led me to my favorite vlog, Your Great Life TV, where I discovered Bernardo’s recent video titled, What’s in Your Final Backpack? […]
