How to shine more light through being you

What does it take to shine more light, not in a challenging way but rather but as a result of your surrendering being? Today I answer a question from a brave viewer who admits a deep longing to shine more light and wants to focus less attention on herself and more on serving humanity.

So wonderful, Bern! I love this. You have an uncanny ability to do a video about whatever I'm currently grappling with or figuring out. It's amazing :-) I'm slowly learning that impacting others starts with our own selves. It's such a beautiful concept -- that we don't have to sacrifice our own happiness, that by sharing light and being who we really are we can bring happiness to others. Just lovely.

 @remadebyhand Dearest Erin, First off I love your enthusiasm and support. I think that at our core we are all looking for the same thing. To love and be loved, to be earthly without getting attached. To be spirit without getting too hung up on nothingness, so I'm glad to reflect in some way what your deepest heart is also searching for. I know that you bring happiness to others, the times when you and I have connected even if it's "online" you radiate selfless service which is one of the keys to creating lasting happiness. Thank you for your kindness and encouragement.

Sending you all my love. -Bern

Bern, you are such a beautiful mirror to reflect the Light and to re-mind us of such simple but POWERFUL truths! Thank you for your gift to me, to that beautiful reader who asked the question, and to all whom you touch.

As you said, so I will say - I'm no expert. All I can share is my personal experience and observations.

Having said that - I find that the times I "shine" best are the times when I'm having fun.

So often, we get caught up in trying to live up to certain expectations. Often they aren't even our expectations. They are the expectations of others - often others we can't even identify. We just assume that "they" think we should be doing XY or Z and we get all wrapped up in trying to become that. We focus inward on what we need to change about ourselves so that we can meet that outward approval.

But, more and more I'm learning that we do our best work and have the biggest effect when we surrender to the things that we do best. They may not be the most prestigious things, or the most logical. We might overlook them because they seem silly or minor or unimportant. But, we shouldn't. We should pay attention to those things and learn how to bring them out into the world.

That's what I'm trying to do. It's not an easy task, but I have a feeling the end result will be well worth the effort.

;)

 @suddenlyjamie Sweet Jamie,

You are so right, Fun is an inherent component of shining light and it is so true that most of us get caught up in becoming someone that others expect us to become without realizing that the only thing that will make us happy is to do what's in our heart regardless of how accepted, fancy or cool it may seem. A life worth living is a life full of honesty and sharing your gifts. I am happy to hear you are on a path to do just this. Sending you lots of love,

-Bern
