Living beyond the edge of Freedom

If you’re anything like me, you often feel the pull of having to change your life or enroll in some program, or buy something that will ultimately create more freedom in your life. My message to you today is that you are as free today, in this now-moment as you will ever be. Through recognizing the depth of your present state of freedom, you can break free from the illusion of having to do or be in order to experience.

Wonderful! I've been exploring mindfulness, and it's helping me realize that being right here, right now, in this moment, is the most freeing experience. Without the past to measure against or the zillion potential futures to compare to, everything goes quiet and you can fully experience and love whatever you're doing (and being) in every moment.

Of course, I'm a long way from being able to do that even a single percent of the time. But the rare moments when I get to that point are like treasures to hold onto.

Great message today :) Thanks for sharing it in your always enthusiastic, always genuine way.

@remadebyhand Dearest Erin, Thank you so much for your powerful comment. I know what you mean when you say that there is so much freedom in being here now. I also appreciate that your heart has a longing to come back to more of this mindful expression of your being. Sending you so much love and wishing you the most powerful week and the most powerful moment right now. -Bern

Thank you for the reminder Bern that we are indeed making a choice every moment to choose love and choose freedom now...or not. When "floating" through life and not living consciously, we tend to forget that - myself included - and I applaud your bold call to action that we "wake up" and reconnect to that awareness that will allow us to fully embrace life at its fullest!

@Sabrina at MyMiBoSo Thank you my Sabrina! This is a reminder for me as well :) Floating through life is ok every now and then but not the best way to spend most of our time right? awareness = Freedom, Love = Freedom, Choice = Freedom, Life = Freedom. Love you dear friend!! -Bern

OK. I wish you'd been walking with me and listening to my friend when she said to me,"Betsy! That's so great. You are going to learn so much! Just think what that's going to do for your business!" She was referring to my decision to get a degree in genealogy starting in the Fall. I was in a completely different space than she was. And I knew she and I experience life differently, so I smiled and walked to my car without really responding. I needed to get away from what felt like her anxiety. I can't explain it well. I just didn't feel calm as she was talking about possibilities. It was such a beautiful day outside and it suddenly felt darker.

People ask me all the time why I do things. I struggle with the answer all the time. And the answers are always far from my truth. because when they hear, "I just wanted to." , etc. they get frustrated. They project into the future. That feels strange to me.

Going to school was the last thing on my mind. But it showed up and I walked forward into it. No big deal. I'm not attached to a degree. I just know that I'm experiencing life as it shows up...or as I show up in it. Ha! Could be either way.

This much I know for sure: life works itself out. But there is only one "now". My challenge has always been filtering voices and energy from other people that distract me from what is real. Real for me that is.

I wonder what you would have said to her?

@CrossBetsy First off, thank you for your honesty and so proud of you for deciding to do something you feel passion in your heart for simply because it's what you want. With regards to your friend I guess if I apply the concept that I shared with you to the situation it's more about applying it to your interpretation of the events than to a specific response. What I mean is this, to me, freedom in this case lays in understanding with a full and compassionate heart that people's conditioning is something that is not always easy to escape. It's about being free to say what you want without feeling neither the need to explain further nor the anxiety to have your ideas accepted. When you act from your deepest truth, the truth is enough and there is no need to try to defend it because it just is. You probably would not entertain a debate with anyone defending the position that you love  your children with all your being because you know it to be true and it just is. Much like that what stems from your awake and alive soul has no need to be defended or understood or even appreciated. My view is that you can (if you feel like it) state whatever reason comes to mind for doing what you do without feeling the need to explain it. Freedom is being you and saying what you want and recognizing that it is not less beautiful if people who surround you don't accept it. Having said this, surrounding yourself with friends who REALLY get you is also liberating. Hope this helps in some way, let me know if I answered what you asked. LOVE YOU very much.

-Bern

@yourgreatlifetv This has been on my mind for over a week now and you said exactly what I needed to hear. It really is all about me. Thanks a billion!

I've noticed lately that I've shifted (just this week) into apologizing for being me-and showing up 1/2-way. So uncomfortable! I like what you said. "When you act from your deepest truth, the truth is enough and there is no need to try to defend it because it just is"

Every time I get a handle on that I move into a new space where it's challenged in a different way!!
