How have you programmed yourself to age?

I believe with all my heart that you will define how powerfully you will age by your thoughts and your actions. I also believe that you get to create the kind of stamina, strength, flexibility and power that matches your inner world. What if it were possible to become stronger as you get older? What is the one ingredient you must have to ensure that you become an example for others in the area of health rather than a warning?

My video today showcases some pretty amazing examples of pure aging possibilities. The reason why I chose these specific individuals is not because I think that physical beauty is an important value but because it is through impressive healthy habits like conscious eating and consistent exercise that these people look better at 70+ than most people ever do in their 20s and 30s.

That was a good post; I lead a healthy lifestyle and exercise but that certainly gives me motivation to keep pushing. I'm definitely young inside which helps too.

Young inside is what it's all about (supported by healthy habits). Sounds to me like you are on your way to create the healthy lifestyle you want as you move on in life. Looking at the examples I shared today also really moves me to understand that what I do today in terms of taking care of my body, DOES make a difference. Thank you for stopping by and sharing! Un abrazo, -Bernardo

Bernardo Bernardo Bernardo - AGAIN! You are awesome! I have thought a lot about this stuff - how the brain accepts our directions given via our thoughts and expectations. I believe aging is optional despite what the calendar says. Funny thing, though, as I listened to this video and you said "I want you to visualize a seventy-year-old man or woman" I heard "visualize a SEVENTEEN year-old" and so that's what I did. Go back and listen to the video from this perspective!!! I totally saw myself at seventeen and then you said, "Whatever you pictured in your mind is what you are moving towards today." COOL! I guess I'm on a good track then! I don't know how you do this - every day - but you do an awesome job! Lori

Cool post, Bernardo! My birthday is around the corner and while I'm not getting oh-my-gosh-sooo-old, only 24, this was a great and inspiring thought to keep in mind and re-frame what I might have thought of how I'll look at 70. My vision wasn't too far from the photos you showed though, so I'm glad it didn't turn out that I'm too pessimistic about growing old :)

Hello Estrella, When is your birthday, please let me know so I can congratulate you that day! I'm happy to hear your frame of mind was already set for something inspiring, knowing you it does not surprise me at all :) THe way I look at it is: First knowing that it is possible to look and feel great no matter the age, the second part is working daily towards making it happen with good food, lots of exercise, a fulfilling life and love. Somehow I think you are also well on your way on that department my friend. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this and as always love connecting with you! Un abrazote!! -Bernardo

Great post Bernardo! Very encouraging! Funny, but I saw Tony Robbins when I was 22 and did the whole firewalk experience! Wild! So I want to look like Sophia Loren when I'm her age - that's what I think of when I close my eyes! ;) Inspiring examples you used. There's a lot to be said about our view of age and it definitely starts from the inside out. I know many "old" 40 years olds and many "young" 80 years olds. In my head I'm still 15 and try to keep my body in that zone - a 5 year old helps in that department for sure! Thanks for this encouraging post. Blue is definitely your color too btw! :) Looking forward to more! Have a fantastic evening! Elena

Hi Elena, Glad you chose Sofia, she is AMAZING :) I created this post because I feel like most people just think that you have to get weak and lethargic as you grow older and as a result of expecting this, experience it too. While I know that the body ages, it can age while maintaining strength, flexibility, balance and power. I am glad to hear you are actively engaged in growing younger and mindset is the first and most important step (followed by nutrition, exercise and attitude) As always appreciate your lovely presence here my friend! Un abrazote Elena, -Bernardo

Hey Bernardo! This is a really cool post. I've never considered setting my mind for what I will be like physically in the future, so this is an interesting exercise. Some of those photos are truly unbelievable! I know what I'll be setting my mind for now! Thanks for sharing this. :)

Hi Marlee, So glad to see you around here :) You are not alone - visualizing how you want to be, feel, look and act as you grow older is rarely something that most people consider. I am happy that today you have given it some thought and now have some really cool references providing a different frame of mind from the norm. Having said this and after looking at your videos, it seems to me that you are on a GREAT path to look amazing when you grow older :) I really appreciate your comment and your visit Marlee! Abrazos, -Bernardo
