The biggest mistake in life & the illusion of spring

We often think of life as a predictable film when in reality, this illusion is responsible for the demise of dreams. Today I reflect upon one of the biggest mistakes most of us make and challenge you to look at the openness of your heart moment to moment. Take 3 minutes to watch my video and then reflect on this:

“Because we don’t know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. Yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, an afternoon that is so deeply a part of your being that you can’t even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four,  five times more, perhaps not even that. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps 20. And yet- it all seems limitless.”

Hi Bern! I like that you have @livefyre  here - it feels like home!

This is an important message! No one likes to think about how long their life will last. I think the moments we remember best are the ones we're "all in" - totally in the moment. We need reminders for this, don't we ;-)

Thanks for this one!

This is such a beautiful invitation - and challenge. To "embrace" rather than "shake hands" will lead to deeper, more meaningful connections. But of course the fear creeps up, as we reveal more of ourselves, the deeper the hurt when we are let down or the connections fade. Thank you friend for the reminder that we cannot live from that place of fear, and that the fulfillment of truly, authentically loving can and does make it all worthwhile.

I reflected on this all night...before I listened to your message. I was so ready to succumb to the urge to silence my voice because of a terrible upset recently. It was this morning as I sat in silence that the shift came. I remembered who I was before the pain and just want to say thank you. Living 1/2 way is not living. Hug when you want to hug. Say I love you when that's the phrase that fits. Again, thank you!

@MyMiBoSo Sabrina, Thank you so much for your acceptance of this invitation to fully embrace life (and people). I have a feeling you are quite good at this and as you said it does require much more courage. The cool thing is: when our focus is simply on giving, the fear of not receiving is not really an issue and this realization liberate us to do it more often and with less concern for the outcome. Thank you for adding your beautiful voice to this post.Lots of love to you,-Bernardo

@BetsyKCross Sweet Betsy, Thank  you for always getting the essence of what I share and for making it your own by using it in your life. You are correct, your voice, your song, needs to be heard. The only way I choose to live my life is by embracing it and un-resisting my inner urges to smile, to serve and to love deeply. I have a feeling you've made this choice as well. Sending you love and light on your journey to embody this truth.
